Thomas Daniel Ertel
Thomas Daniel Ertel, 36, of Williamsport died unexpectedly, Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Born January 27, 1988 in Williamsport he was a son of Daniel J. and Christina M. (Kadash) Ertel.
Thomas graduated from Williamsport High School in 2006 and attended Bucknell University for Engineering. After his time at Bucknell, Thomas joined the family businesses, R&J Ertel and Ertel Associates.
Thomas was strong in faith and began serving the Traditional Catholic Mass as an altar boy at the age of seven. He enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. Thomas was known for his extraordinary artwork, which he generously gifted to those whose smiles were sparked by his creations. Thomas’s gentle heart extended beyond his art. His ability to connect with kids was a gift that he gave freely, enriching the lives of many with his playful spirit and compassionate nature.
Surviving in addition to his parents Daniel and Christina, are two siblings, Amanda L. Ertel of South Williamsport and James C. Ertel of Williamsport; two beloved nephews, Alexander J. Ertel and Jonathan D. Ertel; his paternal grandfather, John C. Ertel; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara G. Ertel and his maternal grandparents, George and Joan (Croucher) Kadash.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 7 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. A rosary will be recited at 4:45 p.m.
A funeral Mass to honor the life of Thomas will be held 9 a.m., Friday, November 8 at Visitation Church, 1614 West Southern Ave., South Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
