Graydon Lyle Yearick, 85, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at the Gatehouse.
He was born Dec. 20, 1938 in Lock Haven, son to Maida and Frederick Yearick, and raised in Avis.
Growing up with his parents and 5 siblings, Allen, Wayne, Connie and twins Joan and June, Gray spent his childhood working for the family dairy and relaxing at the family cottage on Pine Creek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Clark; and his brother, Allen Yearick.
Graduating from Lycoming College in 1961 with an MBA, Gray married his beloved wife, Patty Koch and quickly climbed to the top of his profession, moving to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Government at the IRS while starting his family.
Lana, Terri and Graydon Scott are his biological children, followed by Lee, adopted in 1978 from South Korea.
Following his early career with the federal government, Gray moved the family home to Jersey Shore and served as vice-president of Williamsport National Bank for two decades before opening LUN Data Corporation as President.
Graydon loved hunting with his friends at his camp, Hemlock Hollow. The family would spend Christmases there cutting their tree and tobogganing. He enjoyed morning walks visiting his Amish friends and neighbors, snowmobiling and spending time with his large extended family. He loved going to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.
As a devoted Christian, Gray was deeply involved in his faith community, acting as treasurer and teacher in his local church. He also volunteered regularly at his local food bank.
