Galen P. Drabot

Galen P. Drabot, 69, of Acworth, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2024 peacefully at home.
Born Dec. 4, 1955 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Paul and Alice (Allen) Drabot.
Following his childhood education, Galen honorably served his country in the Army, stationed in Milan, Italy. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, Galen worked as a technician in the Spring Window Fashions plant in Montgomery.
Galen loved to spend time with his son, Dustin, and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, in Hughesville.
Galen transitioned his life to Georgia, where he worked as a service technician for Window Traditions, then for Clear View Glass and Door. He took his love of camping and hobbies with him to Georgia and also attended the East Cobb United Methodist Church, in Marietta, Ga.
Galen regularly returned to Pennsylvania to care for the family farm in Millville and visit the VFW Squadron 564.
Galen is survived by a son, Dustin Drabot, of Acworth, Ga.; and a sister, Phoebe Zarr, of Montgomery.
In addition to his parents, Galen was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Drabot; a daughter, Jessica Drabot; a father, Paul Drabot; a step-father, Richard Gotchall; a sister, Elle Mae Drabot; and a brother, Denni Drabot.
A graveside service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville, will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his honor to the VFW Squadron 564, Millville, Pa.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
