Leah W. Lewis
Leah W. Lewis, 93, of Williamsport, devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with family by her side.
Born on November 11, 1931, in Cleveland Heights, OH, Leah was a daughter of the late Fred and Minnie (Zinck) Speck. Leah was a proud graduate of Jersey Shore High School. On June 23, 1951 she married Harold M. Lewis, cherishing 53 wonderful years together before his passing on August 8, 2004. Leah spent many years in the banking industry, retiring from M&T Bank. She was a dedicated member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving God. Leah was an avid reader and great with solving puzzles. She had a huge heart for cats, especially her Grayce, and enjoyed watching Penn State football games with her daughter. Family meant everything to Leah, especially her role as mom and grandma. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by three children, Frederick M. Lewis, John M. Lewis (Pamela), Rebecca A. Lewis; five Grandchildren Frederick M. Lewis Jr., Robert A. Lewis, Stephanie A. Lewis, Jessica R. Lewis, and Jennifer N. Mazzei (Jacob); and five great-grandchildren Jaron M. Lewis, Zelma L. Mazzei, Rylan A. Mazzei, Kasen E. Mazzei, and Isaac J. Mazzei.
In addition to her parents and husband, Leah was also preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Glossner and Marian Owen.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St., Williamsport. A memorial service to honor Leah’s life will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeff LeCrone officiating.
