Paul D. Schultz

Paul D. Schultz, 89, of Muncy, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born July 17, 1935, in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, he was the son of M. Edward and Ruth E. (Bieber) Schultz. On June 13, 1970, he married Constance J. Peterman, and they celebrated 54 years of marriage.
He was a 1953 graduate of Hughesville High School. Following high school, he owned and operated a farm in Penn Township. He served in the United States Army on active duty during the Korean Conflict followed by service in the United States Army Reserves. Upon returning from active duty, Paul worked for several manufacturing companies. He was a member of the Local 810 Plumbers and Steamfitters.
Paul enjoyed helping his brother and father-in-law on their farms. He was a member of the Canusarago Grange where he served in the offices as an assisted steward and gatekeeper. Paul enjoyed camping with his family over the years. Most recent years Paul and Connie went camping with his niece, Sandy and her husband Bill. His grandkids loved to go camping with them at Penns Cave. Paul enjoyed seeing his grandkids playing in the marching bands, sports, and concert band over the years. He also enjoyed watching his grand pup Winnie and keeping her company as well as visits from the other pups. Paul spent time working on word searches and puzzles.
In addition to his wife, Connie, he is survived by three children, Crystal (Jeffrey) Sock of Hughesville; and Kevin (Traci) and Denzil (Vanessa Sweigard), both of Muncy; two grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Showers of Hughesville; three step-grandchildren, Beka Showers, Cameryn Sock, and Emily Ladd; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Elwood Winter of Muncy; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Schultz of Hughesville.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Roy Sr, Carl Sr, Chester, Harold, Evelyn Richart, and twin sister, Pauline Winter.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor James Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
