Robert H. Lorson, Jr., 75, of Montoursville, died Saturday, March 8, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family. Born August 1, 1949, in Williamsport, Pa, he was a son of Helen (Krezmer) Lorson and the late Robert Lorson, Sr.

Robert attended school at the Rochester Business Institute in New York, attaining his Associate’s Degree in Computer Science in the class of ’69. He went on to work at Andritz as an IT Specialist before retiring after 49 years. Robert was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montoursville, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at the East Hill Hunting Club with his two grandsons as a member since 1988. Robert was a very supportive grandfather, never having missed a single sporting event, and was a PIAA referee and umpire for many years. In his spare time, he often enjoyed golfing.

Robert is survived by his wife, Diane M. Lorson, of Montoursville; his mother, Helen Lorson, of Montoursville; a daughter, Wendi S. (Aaron) Barnes, of Montoursville; four sisters, Ceal (Don) Bruder, Mary (Kevin) McNamara, Becky (Ed) Jacobson, all of Montoursville, and Jo (Carl) Shurer, of NC; two brothers, Allen (Annie) Lorson, of Montoursville, and Ron (Kim) Lorson, of Hughesville; two grandsons, Robert Barnes and Zachary Barnes; several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and extended family.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lorson, Sr.; a sister, Theresa Lorson; and a nephew, Patrick McNamara.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Michael S. McCormick officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to the Montoursville Area School District Foundation (MASDF) in remembrance of Flight 800 at www.montoursville.k12.pa.us/foundation/.
