Jack S. McCoy
Jack S. McCoy, 79, of Muncy, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton surrounded by family.
Born December 20, 1945, in Pennsdale, he was a son of the late John and Estella (Swartz) McCoy.
He and his wife, Diane (Sheets) McCoy, shared a wonderful life and 58 years of marriage together. Jack, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who spent his life working hard and helping others. He began working at Wolyniec’s at the age of 16, where he built a long and dedicated career spanning 60 years before retiring in 2022. He also served as Pennsdale Township Supervisor for 24 years, was a member of the Pennsdale Fire Company since 1968, holding different positions such as President, Vice President, Bingo Chairman and oversaw the construction of the new fire hall. Jack had a love for animals, which led him to run a family business, Oak Run Alpacas. Jack had a lifelong passion for construction, farming and craftsmanship, having built three homes for his family. In 2023, he and Diane moved to the Muncy Hills to work alongside their son, Blake, on their sheep and cattle farm, a pursuit that brought him great joy and pride. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and working on the farm. Above all, Jack will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, his generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter, Corinna (Michael) Malka of Israel; two sons, J. Esty McCoy of Md., and Blake (Melissa) McCoy of Muncy; nine grandchildren, Gage (Taylor), Shani (Michael), Danielle, Colin, Ariel, Logan, Ella, Jack, and Josie; four great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Gage Jr., Ellie, and Rafeal; three sisters, Ruth Rishel, Mary (Fred) Barto, Joanne Snyder; a brother Ken (Linda) McCoy; and one sister-in-law, Iva McCoy.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by nine siblings, Estherbelle, Paul, Dorothy, William, Blake, Robert, and three infant siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at New Covenant Assembly of God Church, 1270 Pinchtown Road, Montgomery, with Rev. James Pentz officiating. Burial will follow in Picture Rocks Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.
