Stanley C. Buffington, a dedicated husband, father, pappy, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Born on December 6, 1961, in DuBois, he was a son of the late Donald and Elizabeth (Yohe) Buffington. Stan’s journey began as a proud graduate of Williamsport Area High School in 1979, where he laid the foundation for his future. He furthered his education at Williamsport Area Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in carpentry that would serve him well in his professional endeavors. His commitment to his country was evident as he served in the Army Reserves for five years, a period of his life that helped shape his character and instilled in him a sense of discipline and honor. Professionally, Stan was a jack of all trades. As a skilled carpenter and general contractor, he owned and operated Quaker Hill Construction Company for two decades. He was a master of his craft, his hands created structures that will remain standing as a testament to his talent and hard work, including his own home. Stan’s interests were as varied as they were fulfilling. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman who enjoyed beer and whiskey tastings, family vacations to Long Beach Island, NJ, and loved traveling with his wife Amy.
Stan shared 40 beautiful years (36 married) with his beloved wife, Amy L. Buffington, and together they raised five sons: Bryan, Brent, and Brandon (Michelle) Taylor, and Travis (Mariah), and Lucas Buffington. The joy of his life multiplied with the arrival of his seven grandchildren: Brandon Jr., Kylee, Bailey, Gianna, Samuel, Camden, and Alyenna, and his great-granddaughter, Aubree. Stan is also survived by his brother Keith Buffington (Elaine), sister Sherree Shaffer (Robert Helminiak), close friends Rocky Pina and Jeff Hughes, as well as many loving extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Buffington.
