John A. Westbrook
John A. Westbrook, 91, of Trout Run, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at UPMC, Williamsport.
He was married in 1959 to the former Phyllis J. (Lewis), who survives. They have shared 67 years of marriage.
John was born in Montoursville on March 20, 1934 and was the son of the late Ruth V. Westbrook. He enlisted and served his country with the US Army. He had worked at Lycoming College as a grounds keeper and retired in 1999 after 18 years of service. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, mowing his grass and country music, especially George Jones. Most of all, he enjoyed being grandpa.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, he is survived by one son, Ronald E. “Ron” Lewis, Sr. of Liberty; three grandchildren, Ron Lewis, Jr., Stephanie Calkins (Dan) and Christina Westbrook (James); seven great grandchildren, Conner, Jasmine, Liza, Gentry, Blayne, Noah and Luke and one brother, Elmer Lewis of Proctor. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one son; Chester Westbrook, one brother; Sam Lewis and aunt; Amy Weber.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at Trout Run Cemetery with Pastor Lon Williams officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Lycoming County Korean War Veterans.
