Protest

I believe in one’s right to protest; it’s when protesters take their right one step too far and the protest interferes with my rights that I draw the red line. For example blocking a highway or street goes too far; blocking normal operations in a building i. e. airport, shopping center, colleges & universities, hospitals, is also too far.  Usually when their effort to protest cost the consumer, I draw a red line.

What do I mean?  At the airport their protest can be solved at the inconvenience of the passenger.  Shuttle could be developed to transport passengers from a point beyond the airport.  What this will require is for the passenger to produce a valid ticket; this effort will require the traveler to plan  additional time and cost, cost for this service will be passed to the traveler.

This effort will mean that a passenger will not be able to be dropped off at a terminal or picked up; again adding time and expense to complete travel. The protester will be contained to a fence in area off the drive to the airport; if the protest jumps over the fence and blocks traffic a fine and jail time will result.

Protest on highway and streets need to be off the highway or street; in the case of highway, protesters they will need to be twenty feet from the roadway.

Protester struck by vehicle will not result in prosecution of the driver. Violators failing to follow this law will results in immediate jail time and fine.

Protest with consideration of others is the rule.
