Cemetery shabby

I am a resident of Williamsport. I know if I do not take proper care of the property where I live I could be cited by the city bureau of codes. It is also common curtesy to my neighbors.

Every morning I drive past the cemetery on Washington Boulevard. I am appalled to say the least.

How disrespectful can we get? I shouldn’t say we, but it is part of the city I live in so I feel some responsibility.

There has been no attempt, at least none that I can see, to care for the sacred piece of land that belongs to this city we live in.

The people buried in that cemetery made this city, paid taxes, fought for our freedom, and contributed in their own ways to make Williamsport what it is today. Is this how we care for these people’s final resting place?

I really would like something to be done. This may seem trivial compared to recent problems in the city. However, the cemetery is nothing new there has to be some plan in place and those responsible are NOT fulfilling their responsibilities.
