I was stunned to hear that Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with a form of cancer in the brain which was the cause of the blood clot requiring surgery above his left eye.
While I am a member of the opposing party, I do admire and greatly respect Sen. McCain and his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family at this time. He has a very distinguished and honorable career.
When people write in suggesting that we should term limit congressional positions and other elected government positions or when they write about passing a new amendment to the Constitution, undoing the 17th Amendment, which allows the public to elect their senators to the federal senate instead of each state’s legislature, you could miss out on another John McCain and that would be a shame.
