A solution for our children

I can ‘t believe all the people crying out for the “poor immigrant children” when we have our own statistics no one seems to care about:

Adelphoi, a premier provider of foster care services in Southwestern Pennsylvania, has been placing foster kids. Over 15,000 children in Pennsylvania are in temporary foster care on any given day.

Child Welfare – About 15‐20 percent of children entering the child welfare system have incarcerated parents.

On any given day, there are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. In 2015, over 670,000 children spent time in U.S. foster care.

How long does the average child spend in the foster care system?

More than 60 percent of children in foster care spend two to five years in the system before being adopted. Almost 20 percent spend five or more years in foster care before being adopted. Some never get adopted.

The report, issued annually by the Administration for Children and Families of the Department of Health and Human Services, shows that 437,500 children were in foster care by the end of fiscal year 2016. A year earlier the number was 427,400.

Step up, people, and help find a solution for our children!
