Switching allegiance

I’m on Social Security and Medicare. I worked until I was 74 until my knees and back couldn’t take it anymore.

My Social Security doesn’t keep up with the rising food prices and everything else that keeps getting more expensive. But what’s really killing us are the drug prices. Every other country negotiates with drug companies, and their citizens all pay much, much less. The drug companies spend more of their money on advertising than on research and can quadruple a price at a whim.

I saw the 60 Minutes show about Rep. Marino introducing the “Controlled Substances Act” to protect drug companies who were distributing large amounts of opioids to suspect outlets. After the show appeared, he was forced to withdraw his nomination as the Trump Administration Drug Czar. So I guess I can’t rely on Rep. Marino to protect us from rising drug prices or opioids.

I’m now putting my faith in Marc Friedenberg. He supports “Medicare for All” legislation to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, location, or preexisting conditions has access to affordable, quality healthcare. Don’t you think it’s about time?

We’re the only developed country that relies on low-regulation, “for profit” health insurance. That shouldn’t be. Marc also wants to help the DEA fight the opioid crisis. I’ll feel much better with Marc in the House of Representatives, voting for my interests, instead of big business!
