Sworn to uphold
Amy Ershler, in her letter entitled “Keeping a check on Trump,” applauds Pennsylvania U.S. Sens. Pat Toomey and Bob Casey for voting to override President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency regarding the illegal immigration issue at the Mexican border. She says that they are upholding the Constitution by doing so.
If those in the House and Senate would actually do what they swore to do, which is to uphold the laws and Constitution of the United States, Trump would not have to declare a national emergency to stop the flow of illegal immigrants crossing the border into this country. Their job is to serve and protect the citizens of the United States, not the millions of people who broke our laws and set up residency here illegally.
Kudos to President Trump for doing what the House and Senate refuse to do.
