An Over The Edge thank you!

On Oct. 26, the YWCA Northcentral PA, River Valley Regional YMCA and Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation brought our community together in an over-the-top kind of way. And to all those who made it possible, we could not be more thankful.

After a year of planning, nearly 60 people went Over the Edge and rappelled from the roof of the William Hepburn High Rise after raising at least $1,000 to give health and education to those in need. To those brave souls: Thank you for being generous with your time, dedicated in your fundraising, courageous with your spirits and bold enough to make a real difference in our world.

To the Army recruiters who volunteered to insure participant safety, the high rise residents who were hospitable and gracious with their home, and the dozens of volunteers who gave their time that Saturday to serve: Thank you!

To our sponsors — Geisinger, Muncy Bank and Trust, Woodlands Bank, Intrada Technologies, Pepsi Co., the Genetti Hotel, Iron Associates, Joe’s Pizza, Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, and all the donors who helped raise more than $60,000 — Please know your financial gifts will directly educate children, give safety to women escaping violence, and provide life-long health benefits to people in our area. Thank you!

And to the unsung heroes of Over the Edge, to whom much of this success should be credited, the staff of Lycoming County Housing and the William Hepburn High Rise, we are indebted to you for your commitment to making this event flawless. Denny, MeriLyn, Gina, Malcolm and all the others, we are grateful for your manpower, cheer and overall hospitality. This event could not exist without your flexibility and professionalism. Thank you!

We can’t wait to go Over the Edge for Williamsport in 2020!
