Sandy Hook Service Project
The Williamsport chapter of Moms Demand Action is holding a service project to honor the lives taken at Sandy Hook in 2012. We are collecting new early reader/elementary-level books and children’s hats, gloves and scarves. The items collected will benefit Family Promise of Lycoming County, Firetree Place in Williamsport and Head Start.
We are collecting through Dec. 11 at Rep. Jeff Wheeland’s office at 349 Pine St., Suite 1, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday; Rep. Garth Everett’s office at 21 Kristi Road, Suite 1, Muncy, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; or the lobby drop box at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans who support the Second Amendment while fighting for public safety measures that protect people from gun violence. The Williamsport chapter encourages a culture of responsible gun ownership in our community by offering Be SMART training to parents regarding safe gun storage, modeling good behavior around firearms and asking about unsecured weapons at places their children frequent.
We are grateful for your support of our project that will honor young lives cut short and improve the lives of children right here in our county.
