Blood, Sweat, and Tears
Do we really understand how Jesus suffered throughout the crucifixion? Jesus being God, the Triune entity made Him aware of what would take place in all His sufferings. Two words “sweat” and “drop” are described in Luke 22:44. “And being in anguish He prayed more earnestly and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.” This is thought to be an unusual medical occurrence. The term is hematidrosis. That is when capillaries erupt and sweat is actually blood drops. It is caused by deep emotional stress and anguish. It makes sense these sweat drops may have been blood drops. And forgiveness come to all who receive through His gruesome suffering. Sin emerged in a garden and His work of forgiveness was soon to be completed on the cross as He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. So began Lent and 40 days of struggle to secure our salvation. Do I believe it was real blood? Absolutely! Life is in the blood! Praise Jesus this Easter.
