Capitol invasion

Many young men from our area fought and died in the Civil War to defeat the flag of the Confederacy, and that for which it stood. It was infuriating to see it paraded in the halls of our Capitol on Jan. 6, along with Nazi symbols and statements glorifying the concentration camps. Has anyone thought to ask one of the few remaining WWII vets what their thoughts were watching this debacle?

The Capitol police have a lot to answer for here. Besides those officers who were sworn to defend our Capitol being unprepared, those who were filmed assisting the rioters to break in, and who posed for selfies with rioters should be summarily fired and prosecuted, union lawsuits be damned.

And, of course, the man who incited this violent overthrow of our fairly and democratically elected government with pernicious lies should be prosecuted for his overt act of sedition, in my opinion.
