The Republican Party for the past four years has identified itself as the party of law and order and supportive of police. In response to the upcoming Senate trial concerning Trump’s impeachment for incitement of an insurrection to overturn a fair election, Ted Cruz and certain other Republican Senators say just “move on.” Rather than do the work for which they were elected and are well paid, they have decided they do not want to deal with this impeachment trial. Perhaps they would like to tell Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick to also “move on.” Oh, that’s right, they can’t. Officer Sicknick was murdered defending their lives.
