Driving Miss Daisy
Recently my husband and I watched the movie, “Driving Miss Daisy.” We both have seen this movie before. We could never see this movie too many times! The actresses and actors are wonderful! Speaking of wonderful, the message given in Miss Daisy is so beautiful. Remember the movies, “Christmas Carol,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” etc. These movies along with “Driving Miss Daisy” have a heart-filled message that we should always remember.
I wish “Driving Miss Daisy” was shown a lot more than just in Black History Month. Meetings, conferences, small gatherings, etc. would benefit.
I found the following information about the movie on the Internet: The movie came out in 1989. (That really surprised me — that long ago!) The screenplay was by Alfred Uhry. Mr. Uhry is an American Playwright and Screenwriter. He has received an Academy Award; two Tony Awards, and the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for the dramatic writing for “Driving Miss Daisy.” He is a member of the fellowship of Southern Writers.
The multi talented actresses and actors are:
Jessica Tandy as Daisy Werthan; Morgan Freeman as Hoke Colburn; Dan Aykroyd as Boolie Werthan; Ester Rolle as Idella Colburn; Patti LuPone as Florine Werthan.
If you haven’t seen this movie, it would be a good idea to put it on your “to-do” list.
