Congratulations Loyalsock Lancers and Coach Insinger

As alumni of Loyalsock Township High School, we would like to congratulate the 2020-21 Lancer Basketball Team and Coach Insinger on their recent PIAA AAA State Basketball Championship! We were able to watch the championship game by streaming it through PCN and we cheered with pride as we watched you conquer your dream. It was a fun game to watch and each young man on the court, whether from Loyalsock or Brookville, displayed great athleticism and leadership skills. Throughout the game it was evident just how hard this group of young athletes has worked for years to achieve their goal. Coach Insinger and his assistants deserve credit for coaching, teaching and mentoring these athletes to be their very best. Their parents also deserve credit for supporting their athletes throughout the years and instilling in them a work ethic and the belief that you can achieve whatever you dream if you work for it.

In the days following the game, we read the Sun-Gazette’s stories depicting the dreams and goals of the athletes and how they began in middle school. Repeatedly, the athletes stressed how they considered themselves a family and each team member was a brother. Thank you Sun-Gazette for bringing the human aspect into this great achievement. We loved bringing Loyalsock’s greatest fan, Pedie, into the spotlight! And, how the team member chosen to drive Pedie to and from practices and games is considered on the level (or higher) as team captains. That simple act demonstrates how the Loyalsock High School basketball program excels in ways more important than on the court.

Congratulations again to a great group of athletes who not only share a love of the game but also shared a dream for most of their lives as brothers.
