Regarding ‘Regretting hesitancy’
I’d like to respond briefly to the writer of the letter titled “Regretting hesitancy” in your Aug. 29 edition.
The writer said, “in asserting a right to be free of the shot (vaccine), many Americans are junking not only science and history, but the constitutional law that Ben Franklin taught.”
Whether the writer or Ben Franklin believes democratic law says the community decides, not the individual, is immaterial in this day and age. Let us not forget, Ben Franklin’s constitutional law was before the Bill of Rights and its amendments.
One more note, Ben Franklin in all his wisdom was not above being wrong once in a while.
