As smart as we think?

Intelligence is the ability to adapt — so said Stephen Hawking, the smartest man of a generation. We are all grumbling at the pumps because of higher prices. We can drill more, and frack the world to Hades, or we can adapt.

In my opinion, fossil fuel is already dead. We have based a good chunk of our economy on making typewriter ribbons for typewriter cars soon to go extinct. We should offer tax subsidies to foster alternative energy utilization: solar, EV, wind and the like for those who work and invest in their communities. We might drill of pipeline our way out of this one, but not out of a sustainable future. The sooner we adapt the better. Or maybe we aren’t as intelligent as we might think. Leaders, all you important legislators and subcommittee chiefs, are you smart enough to lead us out of this?
