What difference would it make?

Would the situation in the Ukraine be different if Donald Trump had managed to hang on to the presidency? Of course we can’t ever know for sure but it seems likely that Trump had an understanding of some sort with Putin where, in the event of Trump’s reelection he (Trump) would stand aside and do nothing to hinder Putin’s mischief in Ukraine. I believe that throughout Trump’s four years in office he did what he could to weaken NATO, likely to ingratiate himself with Putin. Is it possible that had Trump’s coup attempt been successful he had a vision of himself in a similar position in the U.S. to Putin’s in Russia?
