Deja vu all over again

By all reputable polls reported by both CNN and Fox News, Trump and Harris are in an extremely tight race, but the former president is telling his supporters that Harris is “imploding” and he’s “leading by so much”. He’s also saying that if elected, he will call Putin and Zelensky on election night in an effort to end the war, thus suggesting that the results in this ultra-tight race will be evident within hours of the polls closing. (In 2020, it took at least three days before sufficient ballots were counted to enable the race to be called. Most major networks didn’t call it for four days.)

Just as he has before, this manipulator is ramping up his supporters to expect an early and clear victory. Once again, it’s likely early returns will favor Trump. Although Trump has reversed his 2020 position and has urged his supporters to vote early, a larger percentage of Republicans than Democrats are expected to use live voting rather than mail-in ballots. Once again, I can hear Trump calling on election night, as he did on election night 2020, for the counting “to stop” because the results in hand show he has won. Once again, I can see him stirring up his supporters to the point of violence.

I find it all just so juvenile, unpresidential, un-American, and deeply disturbing.
