police officer for what it is going to cost the city to recover from then fiasco that he is now washing his hands of. "I'm not confused, I'm not mixed up, I have to run the city." (variously Dr., Mr., Mayor Campana),

An excellent article. I just wish the SG would reprint an edition of the July article where many of the potential problems were brought to the attention of the public at that time.

I do not care one way or the other about hockey, but this was a terrible business decision by a mayor with an obsession with bringing a hockey team to this city regardless of the cost.

The city now faces liabilities for a decision made without due diligence. I do believe he should be made to be personally responsible for the costs we, as taxpayers, are about to assume, but he is surely passing the buck.

As the article pointed out, the writing was on the wall . . . poor planning based on the ground record of the franchisor, the outdoor site, the weather, three days to sign the contract, no bond in place for the reconstruction of Bowman Field, and the demographics showing potential low attendance.

But, with this mayor's vision, it was "all for the children." You could have hired another polic

What an ABSOLUTE JOKE of an article. DOES ANYONE AT THE GAZETTE KNOW WHAT PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISM IS? How was this article not posted under the Opinion section because it seems blatantly obvious that's what it is. Get your facts straight about even just a few of these things and you might be considered a respectable news source. Can't even keep track of all the incorrect information in the article.

Very well written. I cannot believe anyone did any research. The FHL has an awful reputation, and has been unstable for years. Nothing about their history or marketing team was exactly 'professional'

Francine, Don Kirnan made the "non-profit" in his name to protect himself and the FHL against any liability. He won't be paying a cent. Yes the FHL owns the non-profit, they are the only ones that probably made any money off the team being here as they got money from concessions and rink rentals. I really hope the authorities (City,State and Federal) take a deep look into the Kirnan scam, I bet the IRS could have a field day with them. The FHL thinks they are clean from this deal, I just hope the mayor has what it takes to clean his name by doing the proper thing and exposing the FHL for what it did to our Community. Hockey can survive here with the proper organization and a place to play, but not with the FHL, they probably won't exist when this is all said and done.
