Enough on Obama

February 8, 2013

I think because of the way you beat up President Obama every day on the Editorial Page, this paper is starting to resemble the Republican Party....

Hey you're welcome man.

I figure I've won the debate if the opponent resorts to name-calling.

"Yeah...maybe...or, maybe whatever OTHER "statistic" is generated by Porky Limbaugh's posterior."

Shaman........there is hardly a thread goes by where you don't comment on Limbaugh's show, at least once!

I don't listen to his show, BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU DO, since you are able to constantly tell us what he says.

Your comments are so pathetic!

Bryan48, I also believe it is better to discuss ideas, truth, concepts, beliefs, political ideologies/affiliations, religious beliefs, reasoning, logic, etc vs attacking an individual to call them a stupid, dumba ss, etc.

Now did you really read CHayes posts or are you playing technical games? I agree that an "insane person" is not the same as an "idiot" or "moron" but it is a derogatory put-down, unless the person is truly/factually insane. See......."It now seems to be a spider hole packed with conspiracy theorists and CIP's (certifiably insane people)" by my fellow poster......CHayes.

You're much-more forgiving than myself. I have NO sympathy for the Silent Majority (i.e. "those last few normal Republicans"), who's "participation" (in politics) is limited to voting Republican...because they always have.

At least their (internal) Civil War is becoming more-entertaining...daily!

"Ken's letter references the editorial page in general, not the reader's letters. The SG opinion leans very much to the right. The editor's response that the SG does not lean right and then trying to justify the remark by giving an example comes across as nothing more than a right wing talking point. But, the editor has a right to his opinion just as anyone else does, only he has a full page to express it." - KrazyK

on which to say this came from Congress. In fact, Lew had been a policy advisor to then House Speaker Tip O’Neill from 1979 to 1987, and so was familiar with the law."

As President Obama will try to push the blame onto congress in the coming weeks, remember that his administration proposed it and he signed it into effect.

Sequestration.........Obama owns it. As we approach the automatic federal government spending cuts next month, remember that this administration proposed it.

"Woodward’s book details the efforts to come up with an enforcement mechanism that would make sure the cuts took place — and virtually every mention shows this was a White House gambit."

1. "The White House proposed the idea of a compulsory trigger, with Sperling calling it an “automatic sequester,” though initially it was to include tax revenue, not just spending cuts. Boehner was “nervous” about using it as a budget tool."

2. "Once tax increases were off the table, the White House staff came up with a sequestration plan that only had spending cuts and sold Harry Reid on the idea."

3. "This is the third reference to the White House putting together the plan for sequester. Granted, they are using language from a congressional law from a quarter-century earlier, but that seems a thin reed

I am starting to smell a new Obama administration-lead initiative that will be part of ObamaCare or other program. You need to start setting aside some more tax money to help renovate the homes and apartments of the poor and less fortunate.

I agree with Chuck and Enigma regarding the SG and major news sources. I certainly do prefer info to persuasion when it comes to reporting news. My experience with having letters edited is similar to what Phil has experienced. I have to say, 90% of the time, my letters have appeared word for word. I credit that to having a very capable spouse/editor who can be quite blunt about what I write.

Please spend the four years ranting about how stupid Obama supporters are instead of discussing how the GOP might better govern in the future.

On behalf of all future progressive candidates I would like to thank you in advance.
