Late to the game but has anyone brought up the fact that Chuck complains about "derogatory" letters about the left but then writes a "derogatory" letter about the right?

Talking about the Draft, today is 40 years since the end of the Vietnam conflict. I would like to thank all of those Veterans who served.

What do you hope to gain by besmirching prior GOP presidential candidates?

"Yeah...his agenda was "blocked"...and, we're almost outta Afghanistan, as a result."

If we are almost "outta" Afghanistan, why are military members still going over there?" - USABorn

That WOULD be the justification for the term "almost".

If we could merely snap-our-fingers...or, there was a Draft...we'd have been outta Afghanistan, LONG ago!!!!!

"The conspiracy was not specifically against McCain. It was setup to return control to the Rats, McCain just happened to be the focus when it culminated. Bush's financial naivety or perhaps again that word "compromise" helped. If you are really interested in the particulars read "Masters of Audacity & Deceit" by William E Been. A completely documented rendition of the circumstances." - Bobbie2

...Or, JerryfromRI...you could choose Reality.

"ANOTHER "throw-away" candidate (like McCain, Romney...AND, Dole)"

Both Dole and McCain were war heros who have dedicated their lives to public service. I also consider Mitt Romney to be a very good and generous man and regardless of whether or not I agree with their politics I don't consider any of them as "throw away"." - JerryfromRI

*

That's fine. You prefer "sacrificial"-candidates??

"I'm guessing you're much-too-YOUNG to remember how bad things were, during the Fall O' 2008."

From day one of the Bush 43 administration the Rats made a concerted effort to tank the economy, capped off with a global bank run initiated by George Soros Sept 18,2008. Soros panicked when McCain went ahead in the polls because of selecting Palin for VP and pulled out all the stops to make things as bad as possible financially and Rats lacked the intelligence or perhaps the honesty to reverse the effects." - Bobbie2

Try, again, Skippy. You have Phil Gramm to "thank", for that.

If we are almost "outta" Afghanistan, why are military members still going over there? My grandson is just finishing his bomb schooling and in April will go to a base in Ky. From there he and a whole new batch of guys will be heading for Afghanistan. Is that what you call "outta there?"

Alright, I'll put down the $12.97 and get this book from Amazon if you'll agree to read The Big Short by Michael Lewis.

Deal?

Do you honestly believe that the 2008 financial crisis was the result of a conspiracy again John McCain?

I'm not attempting to judge you or take a back handed swipe at you, I'm just asking if that is what you really truly believe happened.

I see nothing to be gained by insulting those whom we disagree with.

"One thing the Republicans want to avoid in the primaries for the 2016 Presidential election is having a series of "sky rocket" candidates the way they did in this past election.

With potential candidates like Chris Christy(sp?) and Marco Rubio, I think that will be less likely to happen." - DavidBross

*

Not really. Even Republicans are recognizing they'll need to pick ANOTHER "throw-away" candidate (like McCain, Romney...AND, Dole), to serve-up, against the first female-President...and, there's no WAY Chris Christie is gonna accept that nomination!!!!

Maybe Republicans will be able to convince Christine O'Donnell she really SHOULD take one-last-shot...before they "sacrifice" HER.

*

No...you're correct.

When you have someone who's (actually) BEEN engaged in politics (as-opposed-to those NASCAR-fans, turned T-Bagger...who'd "discovered" politics, right AFTER the first Black-dude had been elected President), it's not all that difficult to notice she strings-together a pile o' rhetorical-phrases...and, tries to "sell" them as a complete-thought.

I'm guessing Snookie Palin actually thought her "political"-career was gonna last, long enough, to pick-up the votes of all o' those 14-year-olds (who thought she was so "hot"), once they were old-enough to vote.

Silly Snookie!!

The ONLY people, who seem to think she makes sense, are the T-Baggers...a distinct-minority. I can't help but think...moderate-Republicans (i.e. The Silent Majority) must be nearly "dead", from embarrassment, that some bimbo (who wouldn't recognize a complete-thought, if it hit her, broadside) has been chosen to represent them.

So would we, Dems!!

Besides electing the first female-President, we wouldn't mind showing everyone the difference between a "landslide" and an "AVALANCHE"!!! It's time those Birther-buddies had their "political"-careers buried, anyhow. They're (both) starting to draw flies.

One thing the Republicans want to avoid in the primaries for the 2016 Presidential election is having a series of "sky rocket" candidates the way they did in this past election. In 2012, there were 5 candidates each of whom rise rapidly, shown with intense brightness, and then sputtered out and disappeared. With potential candidates like Chris Christy(sp?) and Marco Rubio, I think that will be less likely to happen.
