DA's description phrased as "inadvertent oversight". How ridiculous. Do these people think we are morons? Simply put...either these people are not intelligent enough to follow directions from the judge or are just plain lazy. The responsibility was not only that of the DA but how about the police officer "following up" especially a murder case! Which, by the way, seems to explain why nobody knows who killed who. We have lazy people who, apparently, are not familiar with the rules of criminal procedure or simply choose not to follow them. Either way, how frightful is that and, again, it is extremely difficult to put any faith in our local law enforcement. The DA, of all people, should certainly recognize the importance of following protocol, especially if he would like criminal convictions. After all, isn't that his job?

Thank you Judge Butt's for reminding the taxpayers about how important their vote counts on a County level. Apparently, the District Attorney of Lycoming County has not been doing his job...on more than one occasion and Judge Butt's has had enough!

Godzilla-your post is GREAT and it makes me wonder if these entities communicate properly?

@godzilla nailed it perfectly. The DA's childish attempt to push the blame onto the police - specifically Peacock - is simply astonishing and astonishingly stupid. I'd suggest the DA man up and take responsibility but it's pretty apparent he doesn't have the equipment to do so.

I see it as progress that the person of the year is now the Judge Judy of the bad kids in Romper Room. It's about time someone holds the DA's office accountable! BUT REALLY for the DA to pass the buck to officer Peacock with some flim flam you didn't file a paper nonsense. I'm pretty sure that the DA's office knew about that confession and it was their responsibility to make sure that they had all their ducks in a row and if information such as that was not in the file then follow up with that officer should have been done. Wow pick up a phone and call over and say where is that confession at? Pretty simple! I'm sure that this is not the only case that this officer is assigned to considering the amount of chaos in the city. I find it pathetic that the DA passes the buck instead of Manning Up and learning a lesson. There are rules in this world and for the DA's office to pass the buck just makes him look like the bully of Romper room not to say ineffective in his current position.

No evidence of DA "arrogance" or the need anyone to be "slapped...down" as mentioned below. The DA works hard keeping the likes of Qu Mar off the streets. If a mistake was made, how about public servants working together to fix it, not berating each other?

Sounds to me like the DA is blaming another person like a child, instead of taking his punishment like a man.

It is inexcusable that the DA would sit on a confession for over a year.

This is arrogance and I am happy Judge Butts slapped them down.
