One of the definitions of insanity is repeating the same action over and over and expecting different results. Following this line of reasoning, the last thing we need is to enact more useless, "feel good" gun laws. Enforcing the laws already on the books would be a good start, but moving from a reactive response, relying on knee-jerk emotional reaction, to a proactive response where common sense prevails would go much further in addressing gun violence.
The left, whether liberals, progressives or whatever, always resort to so-called "political correctness" to try to control the discussion. They react emotionally with terms such as "zero tolerance" and "gun free zones," all the while professing that we can legislate morality. A more proactive response would be to get the squeamish out of the way and have trained law enforcement and volunteers in place to respond to gun attacks with equal or superior firepower. Like the NRA says, "The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun.
As far as political correctness is concerned, I've always understood that politics is the interaction of different points of view. If this is so, how can one side unilaterally declare that they are correct?! This is nothing more than an attempt at mind/thought control, and as far as I'm concerned we should all have zero tolerance for political correctness and recognize "gun free zones" as the "target rich" environments that they are. Remember, when seconds count, the police are just minutes away.
