SUN Home Health & Hospice and Jersey Shore Hospital are among 158 nonprofit organizations in the area that will participate in the "Raise the Region Fundraising Day" next Tuesday.
The event is designed to help the communities of Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties support local nonprofit organizations fundraising efforts. It is sponsored by The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania.
Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships has donated $125,000 that will be used to match a portion of donations made to pre-registered nonprofits. Additional monetary prizes and incentives, sponsored by Auto Trakk and Larson Design Group, will be awarded to participating nonprofits throughout the entire event.
Anyone who wishes to donate to any of the registered nonprofit groups may go online to www.raisetheregion.org on March 12 and select a nonprofit to support. The minimum gift is $25; maximum gift eligible for the match is $10,000.
SUN Home Health & Hospice, a voluntary not-for-profit organization, provides home health and hospice services to 14 counties throughout central Pennsylvania. For more information call 888-478-6227 or visit www.sunhomehealth.com.
Jersey Shore Hospital will designate funds raised for upgrades to the hospital's Women's Imaging Center.
The hospital plans to add cutting-edge breast procedures so patients do not have to travel outside of the area for care.
Gifts are completely tax deductible and irrevocable. Each nonprofit will receive a portion of the $125,000 matching funds from Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships.
Donations for Jersey Shore Hospital also may be made by calling 398-3103 via credit or debit card.
