Mr. E. Ernest Danley, 93, of 2869 Four Mile Drive, Montoursville, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
Ernie was the last member of his family generation. Born June 14, 1919, at Cogan House, Lycoming County, he was the son of the late George Wesley and Carrie Ringler Conn Danley.
Ernie was a graduate of the Liberty High School. He also attended Penn State University. Upon completion of his education, he purchased and operated a school bus in Cogan House. He later was employed for some time by the Pillsbury Baking Company in Lehigh County. He then worked as a consultant for the Alexander Proudfoot Consulting Firm of Chicago.
Ernie was a member of the Emmaus Kiawanis Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He loved the family pets. For years he rode his Palomino stallion in the local Mummer's Parade. He also was a member of the Tiadaghton Riding Club.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Willa Fae Baskin Rupert Danley; his stepson, J. Craig Rupert of South Williamsport; and his nephew, Frederick Danley in Maryland. In addition to his late parents, he was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Florence Outherson and Isabell Halderman and his brother, George A. Danley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport. The Rev. Canon Paul C. Donecker will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at East Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
