In addition, Kevin Taylor, a coach with the Loyalsock Valley Elementary School, won a special Coach of the Year Award, and "Homer" Awards were given to coach Alan Horn, of the Montgomery Area School District, and to the Wellsboro High School Problem 4 team, for helping a new team get through the registration process.
Some 200 volunteers helped students and teams.
A local OM spokesman said the "Montgomery Area School District was dominant in the balsa wood structure project."
The competition featured six categories. Pet Project asked participants to design and build three vehicles to deliver pieces of a pet. The Email Must Go and ARTchitecture: the Musical had students create original performances.
Students were given the task of creating a structure that would hold as much weight as possible in Tumble-wood. Two more performances involving the ocean and odd behaviors were showcased in Top Sea-cret Discoveries and It's How You Look at It.
