June M. Wertman, 74, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Rose View Center.
She was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Williamsport, the daughter of the late Francis P. and Sarah E. (Oehrli) Grimes.
A true testament to her life in one simple word is strength.
June retired from Wal-Mart after 14 years of service.
She is survived by a son, John A. Kane of Williamsport; four daughters, Tina M. (Robert) Sholes, Gwen C. (Craig) Barrett, Penny L. English and Rhonda J. (Walter) Wertman-Sander, all of Williamsport; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iva V. Koch of Williamsport, Sarah J. (Robert) Gray of Picture Rocks; three brothers, Benerval L. (Elsie) Grimes of Williamsport, Francis P. Grimes of Hughesville and Russell A. Grimes of Thailand; also survived by a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Kane of Williamsport.
June was predeceased by a son, Bruce E. Kane in 2004, three grandchildren and a sister, Lillian Keen.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Children's Development Center, 625 W. Edwin St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Relatives and friends are invited to June's Life Celebration Service 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., with Rev. Albert L. Jones Jr. officiating. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
