William R. Regel Jr., 57, formerly of Valparaiso, Ind., and a resident of South Williamsport, died April 8, 2013, at The Gatehouse surrounded by family.
He was born in Williamsport on July 12, 1955, a son of William R. Sr. and Theresa Maroni Regel.
Bill was raised in South Williamsport and attended South Williamsport schools. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle.

He was employed for 38 years at Bethlehem Steel and their many divisions in different locations around the country including his last position at Arcelormittal in Indiana. Bill was a member of the Republican League, Loyal Order of the Moose, Highland Lake, VFW DuBoistown and also American Legion Post 617, South Williamsport.
Surviving, in addition to his father of South Williamsport; is a daughter, Danielle Covey of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jayden and Mason; a brother, Kenneth F. Regel (Marsha), and sisters, Karen S. Regel-Gatz and Lori A. Regel-Childs, all three of South Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews.
His mother, Theresa M. Regel, preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport, with Msgr. Stephen D. McGough officiating, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to Susquehanna Foundation, for the benefit of The Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
