Montgomery, Muncy, Muncy Creek Township and Clinton Township governments are co-signing on a $23 million loan, the cost of setting up a regional sewer service.
That's a lot of cash and a lot of commitment.
But you get what you pay for and all four municipalities were in need of a modernized sewer service. And like most services that municipalities of this size provide, the sewer service long-term will be more efficient and less costly as a regional venture.
The reality for relatively smaller municipalities these days is just about every service they provide from fire to police to sewer and water and perhaps public services can be done more efficiently at more affordable costs on a regional basis.
