Albert C. Dingler, 87, of Williamsport, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
He was born in Clearfield on July 11, 1925, the son of A. Clair and Elsie Heck Dingler. He was a graduate of the Jersey Shore High School, a charter member of the Jersey Shore Lions Club and past post commander of the George W. Pepperman Post 36 American Legion. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 366, a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and retired as a store manager.
Albert was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific Theatre of war.
Albert enjoyed trips to casinos in Northeastern Pa., Atlantic City, N.J., and Las Vegas, Nev.
His wife, Theresa Jane Dingler, died in June of 1992.
He is survived by his sisters, Leona Maines of Avis and Phyllis Dingler of this city; and one aunt, Margaret Edgren in Clearfield; as well as one niece and two nephews. Albert was preceded in death by a sister, V. Lois Wheeler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 702 W. Fourth St., at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery with full military honors. Crouse Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
