Soon after injured motorist Tracy Lynn Moyer arrived in the emergency room at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, the medical staff discovered four packs of heroin and two syringes in her pants pocket, according to state police.
Blood tests revealed that the 48-year-old woman was under the influence of a narcotic often used to treat panic disorders when her 2001 Pontiac Sunfire and a pickup truck collided on Lycoming Mall Drive and Cemetery Road in Fairfield Township on the afternoon of Jan. 29, police said.
The other driver was not injured, police said.
Tests found benzodiazepine in Moyer's blood, police said.
Moyer, of 440 Broad St., Montoursville, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Gary W. Whiteman on charges of possession of heroin, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was released on $2,500 bail.
