The countywide Memorial Day service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Park, located on W. Fourth Street at Wahoo Drive. Mike Stevens, host of the Pennsylvania Road Series on WNEP-TV, will be the guest speaker. The Williamsport Veterans Memorial Park Commission, in conjunction with the Lycoming County Veterans Council, is sponsoring the event, and invites attendees to join them for refreshments afterward at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 2233 Linn St.

TROUT RUN - The Wolf Run Festival and Native American Pow-Wow will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with free admission, at Trout Run Park, just off Route 15. A Revolutionary War reenactment will be held all three days, and Native American dancing and drumming will go on throughout the weekend.
BOALSBURG - The World War II living history program will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum. Reenactors will camp out as German, Austrian, American, Polish and French Resisitance soldiers. A tactical operation in the hedgerow countryside is scheduled for 1 p.m. each day.
WHITE DEER - The grounds of the Christ Lutheran building (the Stone Church) will be opened until 2 p.m. A history of the church will be given at 1 p.m.
MILLVILLE - A parade will move from the Fire Company and end at Millville Cemetery at noon, with a ceremony to follow.
PICTURE ROCKS - A parade sponsored by the Picture Rocks Lions Club that includes the Hughesville High School band will kick off at Center Street and march to Picture Rocks Cemetery, where there will be a memorial service. Mike Pawlik, superintendent of East Lycoming School District, will speak. Two students from Ferrell Elementary will read pieces dedicated to fallen soldiers. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Picture Rocks Baptist Church.
NORDMONT - The 90th annual Memorial Service at Cherry Grove cemetery will feature speaker Melanie Norton, president of the Sullivan County Historical Society. Members of American Legion Post 601, Sonestown, will perform an honor guard ceremony with a wreath laying after the service. Music will be provided by the Sullivan County High School band.
NIPPENOSE VALLEY - There will be a Memorial Day service at the Oval Cemetery, off Rt. 44 in Oval. Recently retired Air Force Brigadier General Fran Hendricks, who will take over the presidency at Mansfield University on Tuesday, will speak. Music by the Fairplay Brass. In case of rain, the service will be held in the Oval United Methodist Church, 6796 S. Route 44.
The American flag should be flown at half-staff until noon, then raised to full-staff for the rest of the day.
Memorial Day is a "Fish For Free" day in Pennsylvania. For one day, you don't need a license to go catch a big one.
JERSEY SHORE - A ceremonial burial at sea will be held at the Susquehanna River bridge at 6 a.m. with 21-gun salute and taps. Then a 21-gun salute and taps will be observed at the American Legion Post 36 at 7 a.m., then a gun salute and taps, with coffee and doughnuts, at VFW Post 5859 at 8 a.m. Then a ceremony will be held at the Jersey Shore cemetery at 9 a.m. until about 11 a.m. Army Lieut. Col. Nikloai Andresky, assigned as military liaison to Lock Haven University, will be the featured speaker.

The Rose Valley Mill Creek Watershed Association will host its annual Cane Pole Fishing Derby at the North Access to Rose Valley Lake. Participating children are given free cane fishing poles, tackle and bait. Prizes will be given for the child who catches the largest fish, catches the most fish, and picks up the most trash. Food and other childrens' activities are available.
HUGHESVILLE - The Memorial Day parade will form at the Hughesville Fire Department at 8:30 a.m. and go to the Pleasant Hills Cemetery, where Retired Marine Corps Sgt. Major Luke Converse will speak. Music will be by the Hughesville High School marching band, and the Veterans of Vietnam War Post 51 will lay a wreath. A 21-gun salute will occur. Eighth-grader Cole Lesher will present the Gettysburg Address and Elise Sherman will present the poem "In Flanders Field."
WATSONTOWN - American Legion Post 323 will host a parade that will begin with ceremonies at the Watsontown cemetery at 9 a.m. and proceed to the Watsontown bridge.
WESTFIELD - Parade and service at 9 a.m.
MONTGOMERY - The Montgomery Memorial Day parade, sponsored by American Legion Post 251, will form at 8:45 a.m. At 9:15 it will march to the Community Park. Kevin Bittenbender will speak. The Montgomery High School marching band will perform. In case of inclement weather, there will be no parade and the service will be held at the high school at 9 a.m.
MONTOURSVILLE - The annual Memorial Day service will be held at the Montoursville cemetery. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the American Legion Post.
WELLSBORO - A parade begins at 10 a.m. and travels to Wellsboro Cemetery for an 11
KNOXVILLE - Parade and service at 10 a.m.
MUNCY - American Legion Post 268 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3428 will sponsor a parade on N. Main Street to E. Penn Street followed by a ceremony at the Muncy Cemetery. Sam Shievley, U.S. Navy Lieutenant, will speak.
SONESTOWN - Memorial services will be held at Hillcrest Ceremony, sponsored by American Legion Post 601.
MANSFIELD - A parade downtown to Veterans Memorial Park begins 10 a.m. Following parade will be a service at 11 a.m.
BLOSSBURG - A service to be held at 11 a.m. that follows path to the World War II monument.
SABINSVILLE - Parade and service at 11 a.m.
