State Park, Howard
The park's new deluxe camping cottage "in the woods" has opened and can be reserved weekends until mid-June and weekly after that. The park also has expanded its modern camping season for the Oak Loop, which will open and close with the Sycamore Loop, from the second weekend in April until mid-December. The beach swimming area has been expanded to accommodate larger crowds during the busy summer season. Visitors are reminded that it is a "swim at your own risk" beach without lifeguards.
The popular marina and beach concessionaire, "Boats and Bikes," is back for the 2013 season with expanded operating hours, a larger fleet of boats and expanded menu items at the beach cafe. Boats and Bikes at the marina will be open seven days a week beginning May 24 and the Beach Cafe will be open seven days beginning June 14 until Labor Day. In addition to their already expansive fleet and variety of water craft available to rent, Boats and Bikes now has five new pontoon boats and tandem kayaks. To reserve and rent watercraft or bicycles at Bald Eagle State Park, visit www.boatsandbikesetc.com or call 814-625-0060.
