City police will use the now-closed Round Hills Elementary School at 136 Grimesville Road to conduct active shooter training today.
Additional trainings will take place Oct. 15, 22 and 29 and Nov. 5.
The training will take place inside the building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The public is asked to be aware that there will be a heavy police presence on the Round Hills property as the training takes place.
The purpose of the training is to help improve the safety of local schools and be prepared should such a crisis occur by allowing police officers on site to run through drills and tactics.
