Daniel E. Barlet, 89, of 45 Fisher Road, Cogan Station, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at The Gatehouse.
He was born May 25, 1924, in DuBoistown, a son of Daniel M. and Nora Barlet.
Daniel was a World War II Army veteran and retired from Anchor Darling Valve after 40 years. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 7863, DuBoistown and the American Legion Post No. 1, Williamsport. Daniel enjoyed going to casinos, playing cards and watching sports on television.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Anna Fowler, and by his two brothers and two sisters.
Daniel is survived by his two sons, Carl D. Barlet, of Linden and John M. (Faith) Barlet, of Cogan Station; three daughters, Carol A. (Stanley) Tagliaboski, Sandy M. (John Wettlaufer) Jones and Cindy L. Barlet, all of Cogan Station; two sisters, Betty (Don) Powell and Nora "Petey" Smith, both of Linden; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Louis H. Gatti. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Friends may call at the funeral Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
