Robert K. Smart, 87, 139 Hillside Drive, Howard, passed away Nov. 19, 2013, at his residence. He was born May 17, 1926, to the late Arthur (Ted) and Myrtle Sheats Smart in Lock Haven.
Robert was a 1944 graduate of the Lock Haven High School. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Bob had worked 40 years at the Lock Haven Hammermill on the paper machine and also in the maintenance department retiring in 1987. He had also worked for Grant Miller and did electrical work.
Robert was a member of the Lamar Township Fire Co., the Bald Eagle Rifle League and was a life member of the Southern Clinton County Sportsman Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. Bob had attended the Lock Haven First Church of Christ and had driven a van for the STEP Program in Lock Haven.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Barrett Smart in 1994.
Robert was united in marriage to Kathryn (Kitty) Killinger Barner Smart on Aug. 30, 1997, who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Madalyn Johnson, of North Carolina, Pamela (Jim) Ripp, of Nevada and Eva L. Hahn, of Virginia; two step-daughters, Kathy Smith, of Beech Creek and Teresa (Joe) Bianchi, of Avis. Also surviving are six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by a very close friend, Jay Brungard, of Lock Haven and his sister-in-law, Sue Smart.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth R. Smart; a daughter, Cathy Donahay; a granddaughter, Melissa; three brothers, Donald, Paul, Teddy Smart; and a sister, Margaret Nonemaker.
Funeral services for Robert K. Smart will be held Saturday Nov. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Salmon of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ. Friends and family will be received in the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials will be accepted to the Lamar Township Fire Company, Fire House Road, Salona, PA 17767 and the Lock Haven First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, PA 17745. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park with full military honors.
