Keith Martle "KeeKee" Payton, 40, of Williamsport, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
Born May 28, 1973, in Greenville, N.C., he was the son of James Ray Reddick, of Williamsport and raised by mother and father, Dorothy and Elijah Clay of North Carolina.
Keith was a 1991 graduate of J.H. Rose High School in North Carolina. For a short time he attended PITT community college for carpentry. He worked as a sous-chef at Holiday Inn Express.
He enjoyed working on cars and was limited to "just being silly." Keith's first daughter, Sierra Lucas, was born in February of 1996. Life in Williamsport started with brother, Darius Walker Sr. and sister-in-law, Delena and the Walker family the summer of 1997, making lots of friends and relationships along the way. In 1998 his second daughter was born, Dayanarah L. Payton, staying in a long term friendship with the Smith family, followed by marriage to wife, Jodi Hafer-Payton, and son, Tyhir Waters, and the birth of their daughter, Na'Keisha, in 2001.
In addition to his parents, Keith is survived by his wife, Jodi Hafer-Payton, of Williamsport; children, Na'Keisha Payton, Tyhir Waters, both of Williamsport, Seirra Lucas and mother, Toni Lucas of North Carolina, Dayanarah Payton and mother, Athenia Smith, of Williamsport; siblings, Darius (Delena) Walker, of Williamsport, Ashley Clay, Vicky Payton, and Darnell Cooper, all of North Carolina, Alliyah Reddick, of Johnstown, Theo Whitelow, of Virginia, and Sonya Conrad of Florida; nieces and nephews, Maranda Breen, Darius Walker Jr., Na'Shel Walker, William Walker, and Kara Upright, all of Williamsport, and Torrence Clay and Janet Payton, both of North Carolina; girlfriend, Sherry Satteson and her daughter, Dionna Satteson, of Allenwood, with whom he resided with; and several more nieces and nephews.
Keith is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William and Dorothy May Payton.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Freedom House Community Worship Center, 1700 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
