Joseph F. Kiessling, Sr., 82, of Tavares, Fla., passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. His wife, Genevieve F. Kiessling, passed away on Jan. 25, 2014.
He was born Sept. 30, 1931, in Williamsport. He retired in 1984 from the Williamsport Bureau of Fire after 30 years of service, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, Fla.
He is survived by his children, Linda Kiessling, Joe Kiessling, Mike Kiessling, Karen Buchheit, Joanie Hall, Serena Follmer, Kenny Kiessling, Jamie Kiessling, Carolyn Eroh, Donnie Blair, and Larry Ziegenfuss; brothers, Charles Kiessling Sr., Eugene Kiessling, William Kiessling, Fredrick Kiessling, and Robert R. Kiessling Sr.; sisters, Rita Baver and Charlene Houlihan; 31 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 9:30 a.m., in St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Joseph's name be made to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport.
