Mayflower meeting to be held
LEWISBURG - The spring Mayflower meeting of the Susquehanna Colony will be held at 11 a.m. May 3 at La Primavera Italiano Ristorante, 2593 Olde Turnpike Road. It will include an election of officers and there will be a cost for the meeting.

McEWENSVILLE - The Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library, 20 Church St., will hold the following events.
Preschool Story Time - 11 a.m. Wednesday. The theme will be Kindergarten Readiness.
Quilters - 6:30 p.m. Thursday and May 1. Local quilter will share her knowledge and experience with others.
Gadget Help - from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday and May 3. Receive help using the device to connect to the Internet, manage the library account online and download free books from ebranch2go.
Knitters - 6 p.m. April 28. The knitting group will share patterns, skill and experiences with others.
Books for Babies - 11 a.m. April 29. This story time is for children ages newborn to 3 years. Children will learn to adapt to and explore new surroundings and social situations.
Preschool Story Time - 11 a.m. April 30. The theme will be Mother Goose.
Board of Directors meeting - 6:30 p.m. May 1. Meetings are held at the Watson Inn's East Room. All meetings are open to the public.
Bank on Books - 11 a.m. May 2. This event will be presented by Turbotville Bank. A bank employee provides stories, crafts and a snack.
Herb Planter Workshop - 10 a.m. May 3. Roz Yannaccone, Vicki Egli and Lisa Aunkst will help make the patio planter. They will provide the basics: the container, soil and herbs. The attendee will receive information on how to care for the plants and tips on harvesting. The workshop will also include cooking and baking tips, as well as recipes. If a planter is not available, a black plastic pot will be provided.
Second Chance Animal Sanctuary to hold annual chili cook-off
WELLSBORO - The Second Chance Animal Sanctuary annual chili cook-off will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Rockwells, Shumway Hill Road. There will be a cost for the cook-off due to a taster fee. There will be vendors and music. All proceeds will benefit Second Chance.

Montoursville Garden Club to hold afternoon spring tea
The Montoursville Garden Club will hold an afternoon spring tea at 12:30 p.m. May 1 for members and their guests of the club. The tea will be followed by a brief meeting and a program presented by Karen Ruhl, owner of Special Occasions on Washington Boulevard on the "Tips and Tricks of Judging a Flower Show."
The hostesses for the tea are Ruth Kissell and Mary Jane Kaiser with committee members Nancy Machinski, Lillian Horn, Linda Bowersox, Ursula Hiller, Jean Beard, and Ruth Knoebel. There is a cost for the tea and attendees are asked to wear their favorite hat.
The club also will hold a tree planting and special dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. April 25 at the General John Burrows Historical Society.
