The Business and Professional Women's Club Girl of the Month for June is Megan Candace Babcock, daughter of Steve and Jennifer Babcock, of Jersey Shore.
Babcock's activities include Future Business Leaders of America, Key Club, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, Drama Club, school musical, yearbook, Bible Club, Mosaic, cheerleading, choir and Treble Makers.
Babcock has served as both choir secretary and president and is captain of the cheerleading squad. She is an active member of her church youth group and has participated in a variety of charitable community activities through her involvement there.
She was selected as an All-American Cheerleader by the Universal Cheerleaders Association. She holds varsity letters in cheerleading and choir. For the past two years, she has been selected to participate in district choir and she earned a regional choir spot last year.
She enjoys photography, singing, listening to music and watching movies. She plans to attend Point Park University to major in photography.
The Jersey Shore Lions' Club Citizen of the Month for June is Darryl Donn McHenry II, son of Darryl McHenry, of Avis.
McHenry's activities include German National Honor Society, Constitutional Convention, Future Business Leaders of America, Model United Nations, marching band, Senator Gene Yaw Seminar and Internet Technology Club.
McHenry serves as equipment manager for marching band and is president of the IT Club. He has completed two years of the PCT Now course with dual enrollment at Pennsylvania College of Technology and has achieved network and professional certification, making him a certified network technician.
He is employed by the Jersey Shore Area School District IT department as an intern. Outside school, he has been employed by the Susquehanna Transit Company for four years.
McHenry has received the Senator Roger Madigan Citizenship Award and was a member of the Model U.N. superior delegation. He has received top awards at both regional and state FBLA competitions.
He enjoys electronics and computer repair, music, cooking, fishing, reading about science theory and writing.
He plans to attend Penn State University to major in computer engineering and minor in network administration. Following a career in the computer industry, he would like to become a high school electronics instructor.
