Samantha Wallace has been named the arts and entertainment editor at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
She replaces Amanda Alexander, who recently took an editorial position with a magazine in the Philadelphia area.
Wallace, a native of Pittsburgh, moved to Williamsport in January of 2013.
She began at the Sun-Gazette in August 2013 as a copy-editing intern. She was hired full-time in November as a general news reporter, also covering the religion and police beats.

As entertainment editor, she will be responsible for the daily entertainment pages, the Thursday Showcase and special publications.
She will continue to work with assistant lifestyle editor Lyndsey Hewitt, lifestyle-entertainment reporter Bethany Wiegand and various correspondents, who write stories for the Sun-Gazette lifestyle and Showcase sections.
"We are confident Samantha will continue the Sun-Gazette's tradition of producing a Showcase section this is the region's go-to destination for local entertainment news," said David F. Troisi, Sun-Gazette editor. "We urge the region's arts and entertainment entities to establish an information tie with Samantha to get their news in the Sun-Gazette."
