Former MU standout Klein signs contract with NY Bucks

CANTON, N.Y. — Former Mansfield University baseball standout Tanner Klein has signed a professional contract to play for the New York Bucks of the Empire Professional Baseball League.

Klein is the 53rd player in Mansfield baseball history to play the game professionally.

Klein was a two-year starter for the Mountaineers at third base and on the mound after transferring from Allegany College of Maryland. He posted a .340 batting average over two seasons at Mansfield, totaling 60 RBIs and 54 runs. Klein posted 34 extra base hits with 23 doubles, eight home runs, and a triple to record a .502 slugging percentage.

The New York Bucks are an independent professional baseball team based in Canton, N.Y.
